Hyzone Staff

The staff team is comprised of a full-time project coordinator and three part-time youth workers.  

Kenneth Johnstone
Project Coordinator

 

Kenneth was born in Hamilton but was raised in the steel town of Motherwell. He began his post with Hyzone in January 2010 after working for eight years in North Lanarkshire as a Arts Project Coordinator working with a diversity of community groups from pre 5 youngsters through all ages to older persons coping with dementia /Alzheimer’s. He has been working with young people for over fifteen years and currently volunteers for service on the Children’s Panel   

Kenneth has many interests including enduro/freeride-xc mountain biking, motorbikes, music/arts, gym training, running, enjoying the great Scottish outdoors and participating in many indoor and outdoor sports, he has also worked as a professional drummer and percussionist for too many years to mention and plays guitar as a less strenuous endeavor in music making

Allan McWilliams
Sessional Youth Worker

 

Allan joined the Hyzone team in 2009, and has been working on a Sunday night at the Hyzone drop-in. He is now undertaking street work for Hyzone within the Hamilton area.  

Allan has been a youth worker for seven years working for Universal Connections. He has also worked at the Fuse youth cafe in Glasgow and also as an Assitant Team Leader with the Princes Trust. As a volunteer he works in Motherwell with the Solid Rock Youth Group.  

Allan enjoys the great outdoors, loves rock music, playing the drums and passing on his skills to the young people he works with.  

   

 

Cara McKinlay
Sessional Youth Worker

 

Cara joined the Hyzone team in 2009, and has been doing Sussed-OUt and detached street work around Hamilton – look out for her and Derek through the week!
